A True Forest Favorite - Accurate, Easy and Reliable!

The Vertex instrument is many forester’s primary choice for precision height, distance and horizontal distance measuring in forests and fields. The Vertex gives accurate readings also in dense vegetation including thick undergrowth.

The Vertex IV has aluminium housing, sealed electronics and a large, easy-to-read alphanumerical display. A built-in tilt sensor allows for exact height measuring in slopes or on hills. Infrared or Bluetooth® transmitter enables direct transfer of measurements to unlimited peripheral devices. Measure distances up to 30 meters, multiple heights per object, sample plot radii and limiting distances and diameters for BAF point samples and more.

The Vertex IV – the classic Ultrasound instrument that really works in the forest!

The Vertex uses ultrasound to measure distances. Unlike measuring tapes and laser instruments, ultrasound works when the reference point is obscured by branches and leaves.

The ultrasound signals penetrate through and wrap around obstacles. Heights are calculated trigonometrically using the variables obtained when measuring angle and distance. It assumes that the object is oriented vertically. Use the Vertex IV with the transponder T3 pinned to the tree or fastened on the custom plot staff and adapter.
